Final Oral Test

Hi,

Remember that next Wednesday June 5, it will take place your final oral exam and that you need to prepare a presentation about a city or town in Colombia, but we aren't going to talk about a famous city such as Medellín, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Barraquilla, Cali or San Andrés.

 

For this presentations you need to take these aspects into account:

 

1. Slide 1: Place's name and a brief description of it. Include a photo here, please. (Location, weather, population, etc.)

2, Slide 2: How to get there

3. Slide 3: Accomodation possibilities

4. Slide 4: Thing to do there

5. Silde 5: What to eat

6. Slide 5: General recommendations

 

The slides must only have a title, photos and key words. You are asked to describe them, not to read them.  Please keep in mind that you need to hand out a brochure about the aspects mention before.

Our class is almost ending and it's time for you to prepare your third oral task. The aim of this activity is practice on how to use quantifiers and give instructions while cooking.

COMPETENCE

Students are able to:

·         Use quantifiers in an accurate way.

·         Give clear instructions for preparing a recipe.

 EVIDENCE

A 3-4 minute video in which you prepare a recipe while explaining the needed ingredients, instructions and the steps to follow. You are asked to post the link for the video in the class' blog.

PREPARATION

- You are asked to work alone.

- Don't read, this is a speaking activity.

- Keep in mind that you need to star your own video.

- Don't forget to explain the ingredients you need before starting cooking. Use - quantifiers if possible.

- Give brief but clear instructions while cooking. 

- Edit your video so it accomplishes the allotted time.

- Enjoy this activity and have fun!

 EVIDENCE

A short oral presentation in which you give the class the directions about how to get to the place you selected. You also are going to explain the actvities your guests can do one they get there.

PREPARATION

You are asked to make a group of two in advance. Each group needs to bring a visual presentation following the next order:

Slide 1: An invitation card to the event

Slide 2: The map guests need to follow to get to the place from the meeting point. (Use Google Maps or Waze if desired.)

Slide 3-4: Pictures with the activities people can do there.

 

Organize and present your conversation. Remember that you aren¿t allowed to read.

·         Use English language structures accurately in an oral form

 

 EVIDENCE A short oral presentation about a relative who is close and appealling to you or a famous person you like or admire. Please talk about his/her personal information, abilities and physical appereane.
PREPARATION

Bring a picture o image from the person you are going to talk to describe it to the class.

You are not allowed to read the descriptions since the task' purpose is to present your own personas ideas in a clear way.

 The alloted time for this activity is 3 minutes.
